Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin

Bryce Harper launched his first grand slam as a Phillie in Tuesday's blowout win over the Cardinals. The Cardinals made two errors in the top of the second inning and Harper made them pay by depositing a Dakota Hudson offering into the bullpen. Harper also had a walk and a single and scored an additional run. The multi-RBI game was his first so far this month. It was the fourth grand slam of Harper's career and first since April of 2017.

St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin

Matt Wieters cranked his first home run as a Cardinal in Tuesday's loss to the Phillies. Wieters didn't start the game, but he replaced Yadier Molina after the game got out of hand and launched a no-doubter off of Aaron Nola in the sixth inning. It was the Cards' only run of the game. Wieters is hitting a robust .353/.368/.529 but has just 19 plate appearances. That's fewer than Max Scherzer.

MLB Betting Trends

Philadelphia

The Phillies are now 9-19 in their last 27 games against the Cardinals.

St. Louis

Despite the loss on Tuesday, the Cardinals are still 18-7 in their last 25 meetings with the Phillies at Busch Stadium.

Prediction:

The Phillies feasted on young right-hander Dakota Hudson on Tuesday night and will face another pup on Wednesday afternoon. That said, while Hudson projects as a solid middle-of-the-rotation arm for the Cardinals, Flaherty is their future ace. He needs to do a better job of keeping the ball in the park but he’s a flamethrower and a pure strikeout artist. Meanwhile, the Phillies are 9-24 in Jered Eickhoff’s last 33 road starts and are 8-20 in his last 28 outings coming off four days of rest. I like the Cardinals.

The Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -151
