Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-2 with a two-run double and two walks in Sunday's win over the Nationals. Hoskins put the finishing touches on a five-run sixth inning via a two-run double which pushed the Phillies' lead to 7-1 on the scoreboard. The two-bagger was his eighth of the campaign. Overall, the outfielder is now slashing .291/.424/.632 with 10 home runs and 31 RBI over the course of 32 games played. He has been on an RBI heater of late, having driven in 11 runs in his last seven games.
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Yadier Molina went 1-for-4 with a two-run double as the Cardinals fell to the Cubs on Sunday night in Chicago. Molina's two-run double off of Jose Quintana pulled the Cardinals to within a run at 3-2 in the sixth inning, but that would be as close as they would get. The 36-year-old backstop is hitting .262/.292/.385 with a pair of homers and 23 RBI on the season.
MLB Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The Phillies are 3-11 in Vincent Velasquez’s last 14 road starts.
St. Louis
The Cardinals have won nine of Miles Mikolas’ last 11 home starts and are 20-6 in his last 26 outings overall.
Prediction:
Mikolas looked good in his last start, but it came in D.C. against a banged-up, struggling Nationals team. He has struggled with home runs, which is problematic for Monday night’s matchup because there’s power up and down Philadelphia’s lineup. Given that the Cardinals played Sunday night in Chicago and were beaten badly by the Cubs over three games, I’ll take a flier on the Phillies.
The Pick: Philadelphia Phillies +112
