Cleveland Indians Fantasy Spin
Trevor Bauer recorded seven strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings in his final Cactus League tuneup against the Reds on Saturday. Bauer was tagged for five runs on seven hits -- including four homers -- over six-plus frames. He also issued a pair of walks. The 28-year-old righty has given up eight dingers in 29 innings of work this spring, but has also posted an impressive 32/4 K/BB ratio. If he isn't a fantasy ace already, he's about as close as you can get. Assuming veteran Corey Kluber gets the call on Opening Day, Bauer is the favorite to start the Indians' second game of the year in Minnesota on Saturday.
Minnesota Twins Fantasy Spin
Jake Odorizzi was knocked around by the Blue Jays for five runs while recording two outs in Sunday's Grapefruit League start. Odorizzi was victimized by Bo Bichette to lead off the game, and after a pair of walks, Rowdy Tellez got into the action with a three-run shot. Four batters and another run later, that was all for Odorizzi. He'll need to last a little longer the next few times out to be up to speed for the start of the season in a few weeks.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians are 6-2 in Bauer’s last eight starts versus the Twins and are 7-3 in their last 10 games versus Minnesota overall.
Minnesota
While the Indians have had more success in this series as a whole, it’s the Twins who are 5-2 versus the Tribe in the last seven meetings in Minnesota.
Prediction:
Typically, the Indians bounce back coming off losses but with so much uncertainty surrounding their offense right now, I like the under better than either side. In the last 26 meetings between these two teams at Target Field, the under is 17-7-1. The under is also 4-1 in Bauer’s last five starts versus the Twins and is 4-0-1 in his last five road outings against Minnesota. Finally, the under cashed in four of Odorizzi’s last five starts versus the Indians so everything is lining up for another low-scoring game between these two teams.
The Pick: Indians/Twins under 7
