Los Angeles Angels Fantasy Spin

Matt Harvey allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings on Sunday in his Cactus League start against the Padres. Harvey allowed three hits, and he was able to strike out four without putting a runner on via walk. It's been a shaky first spring training with the Halos for the right-hander, but there have been some flashes of brilliance for the 29-year-old. Harvey definitely offers some reward because he can miss bats, but there's loads of volatility in his profile. If you can, take a wait-and-see approach.

Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin

Marco Estrada allowed three runs over five innings in a no decision against the Mariners on Thursday. He didn’t allow a walk and struck out one. Estrada allowed all three runs on homers; a two-run shot by Ryon Healy, and a long solo blast by Mitch Haniger. Outside of that, the right-hander was decent, but the damage was done. Estrada has not been a reliable fantasy hurler for the last two years, and there’s no reason to think that’s going to change in 2019. His next start has yet to be determined, but likely comes in the four-game series against the Angels that begins on Thursday.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Angels are now 1-5 in their last six meetings with the A’s in Oakland.

Oakland

The A’s have lost four of their last five games dating back to last season despite posting their first victory of the season yesterday.

Prediction:

Even though the Angels were shutout last night by Mike Fiers, I like their lineup to bounce back tonight. The total sits at only 8.5 because this ballpark suppresses power and the pitching matchup looks decent. That said, Estrada is a low-strikeout pitcher that is prone to giving home runs. Harvey was serviceable last season with the Reds but he too gives up home runs. I see a big night out of Mike Trout, Khris Davis and Stephen Piscotty.

The Pick: Angels/A’s over 8.5
