Stenson wins Deutsche Bank
NORTON, MA (TheSpread) – Henrik Stenson continued his strong finish to the 2013 golf season on Monday as he won the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Stenson’s win was the first this year, but his fifth top-3 finish in his last six events. Stenson ultimately finished -22 overall after shooting a 5-under 66 on Monday. He finished two shots ahead of Steve Stricker, who finished at -20 after shooting a 4-under 67 on Monday.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Stenson had 25/1 odds to win this tournament, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $2,500.
Sergio Garcia started the day with a two-shot lead, but he posted a 1-over 73 on Monday, which put him at -17 for the tournament. Tiger Woods struggled on the weekend, finished -4 for the tournament after shooting a 2-over 73 on Monday.
