According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Henrik Stenson is favored to win the gold, as he has +600 odds. Other short odds to win are Sergio Garcia (+725), Rickie Fowler (+1250) and Justin Rose (+1393). The Rio Olympics take place from August 5-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The golf portion is being held for the first time since 1904. It will be held in a standard 72-hole tournament over four rounds. In the event of a tie, a three-hole playoff will take place.

Stenson will compete for Sweden. He is fifth in the world rankings and has two wins this year and is coming off a seventh-place finish at the PGA Championship. He has finished in the top 10 in eight events this year.

Garcia competes for Spain. He sits 11^th in the world rankings. He missed the cut at the recent PGA Championship, but has finished in the top 5 in five of his last six tournaments, including one victory.

Fowler is competing for the United States. He is seventh in the world rankings but has finished in the top 10 in just one of his last seven events. He does have one win and eight top-10 finishes on the year.

Rose competes for England and is 12^th in the world rankings. He has finished outside the top 10 in his last five tournaments and is winless on the year. He has four top-10 finishes in 2016.
