Ernst posted a 2-under 70 on Sunday while many of the other leaders struggled. His 70 was matched by David Lynn, as both finished at -8 for the tournament. In a playoff, Ernst managed to get past Lynn after multiple holes to claim his first PGA victory.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the rookie, Ernst, had 300/1 odds to win this event, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $30,000.

Phil Mickelson shot a 1-over 73 on Sunday after being tied for the lead entering the final round. He finished in third at -7 overall. Nick Watney also had the lead entering Sunday, but shot a 76 on Sunday to drop to a tie for 10th place at -4.
