According to oddsmakers from, Rory McIlroy is the favorite to win this event, as he has 9/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Tiger Woods (6/1), Martin Kaymer (9/1) and Justin Rose (14/1).

McIlroy is No. 1 in the world rankings and he has won four of his last nine events. He has only missed once cut in that stretch and has three top 10’s outside of those victories. This is his first tournament of 2013, but he placed second in this event last year.

Woods is second in the world rankings. He has finished eighth or better in his last five tournaments. He had three victories in 2012 and is appearing in his first event of 2013. He placed third in this event last year.

Kaymer is a three-time winner of this event. He won in 2011, 2010 and 2008. Kaymer is 28th in the world rankings. He is coming off a win in his final event of 2012. He has placed 11th or better in four of his last five tournaments.

Rose is fifth in the world rankings. He has placed 11th or better in five of his last six tournaments. This will be his first outing in 2013. He did not play in this event last year.
