The sixth-ranked Bulldogs secured a share of the West Coast Conference regular season championship with Thursday’s road win over San Diego.
That’s 17 shared or outright crowns in 18 years.
And this team is too good to be bothered by BYU. I don't care about this game being in Provo, it doesn't matter. Tonight the Zags win the conference outright for the 15th time in 18 years. At stake, obviously, is the No. 1 seed in the WCC Tournament next week in Las Vegas.
The last thing they want is Saint Mary’s snagging a piece of the title and the No. 1 seed with a win over Santa Clara coupled with a Gonzaga loss. And the Bulldogs surely haven't forgotten how BYU spoiled Gonzaga’s run at an unbeaten regular season in last year’s finale.
The Bulldogs will be going for the jugular tonight, as they reserved their celebration following the win in San Diego.
