Passing on the rest of the games - but I do like the Under in the Rangers game as well - just not enough to put it out as a play.

ANALYSIS: As I said in my just-picked Wild-Blues game, I need a reason to NOT pick a home team in the Stanley Cup playoffs. I have one here for Saturday's game: Pens goaltender Casey DeSmith, who left Game 1 injured, has been ruled out for the postseason. Previous No. 1 Tristan Jarry isn't ready to return yet from his injury. Thus, I have to fade third-stringer Louis Domingue like we did in Game 2 at New York -- in which Domingue allowed five goals.

SEATTLE -130
ANALYSIS: The Mariners have won nine straight behind starter Logan Gilbert dating to last season. However, the Mariners have lost four straight, while the Rays have won four straight. Gilbert beat the Rays 8-4 two weeks ago, going 5.2 innings without allowing a run. Gilbert has allowed only two runs all season. Take the Mariners to win.

ANALYSIS: The Mariners have lost four in a row while the Rays have won four straight. But Seattle is 7-3 at home with a plus-24 run differential and trots out ace Logan Gilbert (4-0, 0.64 ERA). Gilbert dominated Tampa Bay on April 26, fanning seven in 5.2 scoreless innings. The price is right to back Seattle.

BALTIMORE -127
ANALYSIS: The Royals have lost five of six, getting shut out three times in that span. They're 2-6 on the road this season and 4-13 in their last 17 visits to Baltimore. The Orioles are over .500 at home and have won two straight thanks to seven homers, including five solo shots Thursday. Royals starter Carlos Hernandez has more walks (10) than strikeouts (8) and a 1.89 WHIP. Batimore starter Jordan Lyles shut down the Red Sox last time out and has pitched well in three of his last four outings. Lay it.

MIAMI -145
ANALYSIS: The 76ers have listed Joel Embiid as out for this game with his orbital injury, but reports indicate he still might make a push to play. If he’s out again, that would obviously be a huge loss given that the Heat won both of the first two games by at least 14 points. Even if he plays, though, he might not be completely healthy. Remember, he’s also dealing with a torn ligament in his right thumb that he suffered in the first round. Look for the Heat to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

ANALYSIS: Miami is up 2-0 ahead of Friday's second-round matchup against the 76ers and could get better on both ends ahead of the weekend. Kyle Lowry is traveling with the team two weeks after tweaking his hamstring. The visitors should cover if their starting point guard is serviceable for a team that's already secured back-to-back double-digit wins. I like Miami's odds to cover without Lowry, so any shot at a return to the hardwood makes me love the Heat against the spread.

FLORIDA @ WASHINGTON | 05/07 | 1:00 PM EDT
WASHINGTON 170
ANALYSIS: The Caps showed they can play with the Panthers and that was on the road. I am not quite sure why the Panthers are still such big favorites on the road. Tom Wilson could be out again but even with him out, the Caps were playing well the other night. They had more scoring chances and shots on goal halfway through the game than the Panthers, they just made a couple crucial mistakes, which is something you can’t do against this team. We have to remember that all the pressure is on the Panthers right now. This team hasn’t won a playoff series since 1996 and they lost in the first round last season. Meanwhile, the Caps went through the same exact thing but won their Stanley Cup, so they know how to exploit it. I think the Caps will win at least one of these home games so we will play them in Game 3 then if they lose, come back to play them Game 4 to try to profit between the two games.

KANSAS CITY @ BALTIMORE | 05/07 | 7:05 PM EDT
BALTIMORE -125
ANALYSIS: We’re gonna run this play back today with the same pitching matchup after it was postponed yesterday. The Orioles are heating up, and when they get decent pitching, they can compete. Jordan Lyles has actually pitched very well so far limiting the damage in walks and home runs. Carlos Hernandez hasn’t really been rocked yet, but he has been consistent poor. He has allowed 12 runs in 18 IP this season and he has yet to pitch more than 4.1 innings. The Royals aren’t hitting right now, and they need to hit with their 3rd worst bullpen in the league. Take the Os at home.

MILWAUKEE @ ATLANTA | 05/07 | 7:20 PM EDT
MILWAUKEE -110
ANALYSIS: Corbin Burnes has been absolutely dominant since his Opening Day start pitching a quality start in four straight games. Max Fried has also been pitching very well lately with three straight quality starts. The Brewers are ranked just 15th in the league in wOBA against lefties this season, however in the last 2.5 weeks, they are ranked 2nd in the league in wOBA against lefties behind just the Rockies. This is key because I have a feeling a lot of people will just assume the Brewers still struggle against lefty when there really is a lot of value here. The Brewers bullpen should also be available despite two close games. I like the Brewers to stay hot.

TORONTO @ CLEVELAND | 05/07 | 2:10 PM EDT
TORONTO -145
ANALYSIS: I was on this matchup yesterday before the rain. Both Shane Bieber and Kevin Gausman have been very good, and I expect them to both be good again. The Guardians are just 2-11 against winning teams this season and they face the Blue Jays twice today. Take the Blue Jays on the road, if they lose Game 1 then we will probably double down on Game 2.

ST. LOUIS @ SAN FRANCISCO | 05/07 | 7:15 PM EDT
SAN FRANCISCO -145
ANALYSIS: Logan Webb will be starting today for the Giants after being scratched a few days ago, he has been dominant in his career at home. He should have success against a righty heavy lineup in the Cardinals as well. Steven Matz has been decent but he faces a Giants team that seriously struggles against lefties. The good news is in the past 2.5 weeks, the Giants have been much better against lefties ranked 11th in the league in wOBA. I don’t think the Giants are swept at home in a four game series and they are expecting many key injured players back any day now. I like the Giants at home to end this slump.

MIAMI @ SAN DIEGO | 05/07 | 8:40 PM EDT
SAN DIEGO -120
ANALYSIS: So I backed Pablo Lopez of the Marlins last time and he got lit up. My bad. Good pitcher but had overachieved. Padres lefty Sean Manaea is better and as the reason we gave Friday: San Diego's lineup is way better. This is cheap. IMO should be -160ish.

COLORADO @ NASHVILLE | 05/07 | 4:30 PM EDT
NASHVILLE +1.5
ANALYSIS: So ... Colorado at -230 or Preds PL at -130? Simple math, Holmes. I'm not sure Connor Ingram was the savior he appeared to be in Game 2, but I do think this might be one the Preds steal at home with I hope Allan Bell and the rest of the SportsLine Music City crew in attendance.

CALGARY @ DALLAS | 05/07 | 9:30 PM EDT
DALLAS +1.5
ANALYSIS: This is juicy at -195 but I think a no-brainer pick. Parlay it with Warriors ML perhaps? My pick as Calgary to win the West is not looking great. They are dynamic in open ice but the Stars are clogging the middle and checking the crap out of them. I don't know much hockey other than our pond in Michigan back in the day, but Dallas should not be a home dog. So I'll take this gift even at the price (about the limit as we worry about an empty-netter).

FLORIDA @ WASHINGTON | 05/07 | 1:00 PM EDT
WASHINGTON +1.5
ANALYSIS: I was kinda waiting for this: Some value on the puckline in a playoff game. Even losing Game 1 at home, the Panthers were terminators at home for the most part. On the road? Still very good but not quite the same -- like pretty much every NHL team. Not breaking news here. I'll happily take Caps at -150 on the PL. When it hits OT, I'll be at the pool.

OVER 8.5
ANALYSIS: In his five starts this season, JT Brubaker holds a 6.20 ERA over 20.1 IP. Even though the Reds have been absolutely terrible so far this season, we've started to see their offense warm up. Connor Overton was excellent in his start at Coors, but he played for the Pirates last season, so Pittsburgh should be well prepared. While neither offense is particularly impressive, both teams allow their opponents plenty of runs. The Reds allow their opponents more runs than any other team in the league, an average of 6.64 per game. The Pirates are the third worst, allowing opponents 5.25.
