76ers vs. Suns Pick
Will the Philadelphia 76ers win a second road game in as many days tonight when they play at the Phoenix Suns? Tip-off is at 8PM ET.
Who Oddsmakers Like: According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Sixers are listed as a 3.5-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 221 points. Philadelphia opened as a 4.5-point favorite, while the total has risen from 219 points.
Who the Public Likes: As of Sunday afternoon, 58 percent of bets have been placed on the 76ers.
Injury Report: Sixers shooting guard Justin Anderson is dealing with shin splints and will be re-evaluated in early January. Rookie point guard Markelle Fultz has been dealing with a scapular imbalance and muscle soreness in his shoulder and will be re-evaluated in early January as well. For Phoenix, Alan Williams is out for several more months after surgery in September to repair a torn meniscus. Brandon Knight is out for the season after tearing his ACL over the summer.
Who the Trends Like: Philadelphia is 1-4 ATS in its last five meetings in Phoenix and 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall. The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
Who We Like: Philadelphia is on a back-to-back, but will get Joel Embiid back after he rested in a 107-102 win at the Nuggets last night. It was only the second win this season with Embiid out of the lineup against seven losses. With him back, the Sixers should be able to dominate the interior. That will open up the perimeter for shooters such as JJ Redick and Robert Covington. The spread is manageable here and unless Devin Booker goes off, I like Philly's chances to cover.
NBA DAILY PREDICTION: PHILADELPHIA 76ERS -3.5
