Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Pick
Are Karl-Anthony Towns and the host Minnesota Timberwolves going to record the victory tonight over the Denver Nuggets? Tip-off is at 8PM ET.
Who Oddsmakers Like: Minnesota. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Timberwolves are listed as a 5.5-point favorite on the spread line and the total is set at 214 points. Minnesota opened as a 5-point favorite, while the over-under has remained in place.
Who the Public Likes: Minnesota. The favored T-Wolves are receiving 60 percent of the public betting as of Wednesday afternoon.
Injury Report: Denver forward Paul Millsap still needs a couple more months to recover after having surgery to fix a torn ligament in his left wrist. Minnesota, despite head coach Tom Thibodeau playing his starters more than any other coach in the NBA, has no notable injuries at this time.
Who the Trends Like: Denver is 20-6-1 ATS in its last 27 meetings in Minnesota. The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings. Denver is 3-0-1 ATS in its last four road games against teams with a winning home record. The over is 4-0 in the last four Minnesota games overall.
Who We Like: The Timberwolves have played some good basketball recently, winning four in a row which includes a 112-104 road victory at the same Nuggets team last week. Denver has recovered well, however, in winning its three games since then including a 96-81 thrashing at defending NBA champion Golden State. I have to like the Nuggets here. Denver is a very good team when healthy and although Millsap is a major absence, it has learned to cope without him. Gary Harris and Nikola Jokic are both strong defenders and will be tasked with going head-to-head with the top two Minnesota scoring options, Towns and Jimmy Butler. Additionally, Jamal Murray has been playing excellent basketball in recent weeks. This is a great revenge spot for the Nuggets.
