Wizards end skid

Washington ended a three-game losing streak on Monday with a 121-115 win at New York. The Wizards have lost seven of their last nine games coming into today. Washington is 9-20 on the season, 5-13 on the road and 15-13-1 against the spread and 17-11-1 with the over.

The Wizards are putting up 117.5 points per game this season while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from the arc. Defensively, Washington is giving up 121.7 points per game while opponents shoot 49.3 percent against them. Bradley Beal is leading the team with 28.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. Davis Bertans, Thomas Bryant, Rui Hachimura, Isaiah Thomas and Moritz Wagner are all out today due to injuries/suspensions. All five average double figures in scoring.

Pistons drop five straight

Detroit is on a five-game losing streak right now where all five losses have been by double figures. That includes a 133-119 loss at home to the Wizards. The Pistons are 12-19 on the season, 8-9 at home, 11-19-1 against the spread and 17-14 with the over.

The Pistons are putting just 108.4 points per game on defense this season while shooting 46.7 percent as a team. Defensively, the Pistons are giving up 110.6 points per game while opponents shoot 47.2 percent against them. Andre Drummond is leading the team with 18 points and 16.1 rebounds per game. Blake Griffin is adding 15.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Washington

The Wizards are 3-11 against the spread in their last 14 games playing on 2 days of rest and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a losing team.

Detroit

The Pistons are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Thursday games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a double-digit loss at home.

Prediction:

The Wizards have handled the Pistons in both meetings this season, including the win at Detroit on Dec. 16. Despite that, it’s hard to see the Wizards being able to overcome these massive injuries. Their bench is going to be thin and they won’t have a lot to offer in the frontcourt against the likes of Drummond and Griffin. Detroit has had a few days to heal up and Drummond should be eager to take this game over and lead the Pistons to a sizable win.

NBA Prediction: Detroit Pistons -6
