Wizards continue to struggle
Washington continues to be unable to get on track this season. The Wizards have lost three of their last four games following a 105-89 loss at Indiana on Sunday. Washington is 13-21 on the season, 4-15 on the road, 12-22 against the spread and 21-13 with the over.
The Wizards have one of the worst defenses in the NBA, as they allow 118 points per game while opponents shoot 47.3 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from the arc against them. Offensively, Washington puts up 113.2 points per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field. Bradley Beal is leading the team with 23.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while John Wall is adding 20.7 points and 8.7 assists per contest.
Pistons continue slide
It wasn’t long ago that the Pistons were among the top teams in the East, but they have lost eight of their last 10, including a bad 98-95 loss to the Hawks at home on Sunday. Detroit is now 15-16 on the season, 10-8 at home, 15-15-1 against the spread and 17-14 with the under.
The Pistons have struggled to find consistent shooting this season, as they average just 108.4 points per game while shooting 43.5 percent from the floor and 32.7 percent from the arc. Defensively, the Pistons are giving up 109.5 points per game while holding opponents to just 32.1 percent shooting from the arc. Blake Griffin is leading the team with 25.3 points, 8.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Andre Drummond is adding 17.7 points and 15.5 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Washington
The Wizards are 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 Wednesday games and 0-6 ATS in their last six conference games.
Detroit
The Pistons are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven Wednesday games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games playing on two days of rest.
Prediction:
This is the first meeting between these two this season. Washington has really been a mess on the road, losing and failing to cover in six straight. The Pistons are coming off a really bad loss at home, but that was because the shots weren’t falling. Against this bad Washington defense, I would expect the Detroit offense to get some high-percentage shots that will allow them to handle covering tonight. Their defense on the perimeter should be a problem for Washington as well.
NBA Prediction: Detroit Pistons -5
