76ers seek third straight win

The 76ers are coming off a 126-101 win over Toronto on Saturday for their second straight win and third win in four games. Philadelphia is 22-12 on the season, 6-9 on the road, 16-18 against the spread and 20-14 with the over.

Philly is pretty solid on offense this season, averaging 114.6 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent from the floor. Defensively, the 76ers are giving up 111.7 points per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the field. Joel Embiid is putting up 26.4 points and 13.2 rebounds per game this season to lead the team while Ben Simmons is adding 16.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 7.9 assists per contest.

Celtics end brief skid

Boston was on a three-game losing streak, but that came to an end on Sunday in a 119-103 win over the Hornets at home. Boston is now 19-13 on the season, 10-5 at home, 16-16 against the spread and 19-13 with the over.

The Celtics are led by their strong defense. Boston is giving up just 104.8 points per game this season while holding opponents to 44.1 percent shooting from the floor and 32.8 percent shooting from the arc. Offensively, Boston is putting up 111.3 points per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the field. Aron Baynes is out with a hand injury, but Al Horford just returned from a 7-game absence on Sunday. Horford is averaging 12.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this year. Kyrie Irving is leading the team with 22.7 points and 6.4 assists per game.

NBA Betting Trends

The 76ers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven conference games, but just 5-13 ATS in their last 18 road games.

The Celtics are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine Eastern Conference games and 24-8 ATS in their last 32 home games.

The 76ers are a talented team, but they have managed to lose a majority of their big road games over the last two seasons. Boston manhandled them early in the year at home, 105-87. I don’t know that things will be that lopsided today, but I trust Boston to get the job done. While the Celtics will likely have trouble with Embiid, they can do a good job of defending the guards of the 76ers. Having Horford back also gives a little boost on both sides of the court.

NBA Prediction: Boston Celtics -4
