According to oddsmakers at, the Kings are the slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -2 points against the Grizzlies. The over/under total for the contest is currently listed at 212 points. The public betting for this game currently has 77 percent going on the Kings at home. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Grizzlies trending backward

Memphis has dropped four straight coming into today’s game following a 99-92 loss at Portland on Wednesday. The Grizzlies have failed to cover in any of the four losses as well. The Grizz are 16-15 on the season, 7-9 on the road, 16-15 against the spread and 18-13 with the under.

The Grizzlies are one of the top defenses in the NBA, allowing just 102.3 points per game while holding opponents to 44.7 percent from the field. On offense, Memphis is putting up 101.9 points per game while shooting just 45.5 percent from the field. Memphis has a lot of names on the injury report, including Mike Conley. He averages 20.5 points and 6.5 assists per game. He is expected to play despite a hamstring injury. Marc Gasol is adding 16.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for the Grizzlies.

Kings drop three of four

The Sacramento Kings are also on a skid, as they have lost three of their last four, failing to cover in their last two. The Kings are 16-15 on the season, 7-7 at home, 19-12 against the spread and 21-10 with the over.

The Kings rank near the top of the NBA in scoring, averaging 115.3 points per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from the arc. Defensively, the Kings are giving up 116.9 points per contest while allowing opponents to shoot 47.2 percent. Marvin Bagley III is out until January with a knee injury while guard Bogdan Bogdanovic is questionable tonight with a foot injury. Buddy Hield is leading the team with 19.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while De’Aaron Fox is adding 18.2 points and 7.4 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

The Grizzlies are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six conference games.

The Kings are 13-3 against the spread in their last 16 games playing on one day of rest and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games against a team with a losing road record.

The home team has won and covered in the first two meetings between these two this year and I see that trend continuing tonight. The Grizzlies have a lot of role players dealing with injuries and that will hurt their ability to score at the pace the Kings are going to score at home. I don’t see the Memphis defense locking down enough on the road to stay within reach.

NBA Prediction: Sacramento Kings -2
