Suns drop fourth straight
Phoenix is coming off a 120-99 loss on the road to the Clippers on Tuesday night. The Suns have lost four straight while going 1-2-1 against the spread. Phoenix is 11-16 on the season, 5-6 on the road, 15-11-1 against the spread and 15-12 with the over.
The Suns are putting up 114.7 points per game this season while shooting 45.6 percent from the field. Defensively, the Suns are allowing 114.4 points per game while opponents shoot 47.1 percent against them. Phoenix just got Deandre Ayton back from suspension and now he is hurt with an ankle injury and will miss tonight’s game. Devin Booker is also questionable to play due to a forearm injury. Booker is averaging 25 points and 6.4 assists per game, but he has missed the last three games. Kelly Oubre Jr. is adding 17.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the team.
Thunder inching to .500
Oklahoma City has won its last two games at home, besting the Bulls and the Grizzlies to get a game from the .500 mark. Oklahoma City is now 13-14 on the season, 9-5 at home, 16-11 against the spread and 15-12 with the under.
OKC is putting up 108.3 points per game on offense this year while shooting 46.8 percent as a team. Defensively, the Thunder are giving up 107.8 points per game, while opponents shoot 45.7 percent against them. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the team with 18.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, while Danilo Gallinari is adding 17.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Phoenix
The Suns are 8-17-1 against the spread in their last 26 games playing on two days of rest and 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games against a team with a winning home record.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 games following a failed cover and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games when playing on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
These two haven’t met this season, but based on the injuries to Phoenix, I have to go with OKC at home. The Thunder have not been able to cover in recent games, but Phoenix could be without its biggest two horses and playing a team that defends pretty well, especially at home. The Suns are still not good defensively, so the Thunder should see a boost in scoring tonight as well. I think OKC can really pull away from this beat up Phoenix squad.
