Pacers have win streak end
The Pacers saw their seven-game win streak come to a surprising end last night in a 92-91 loss at home to Cleveland. Indy has failed to cover the spread in its last two games. The Pacers are 20-11 overall, 9-6 on the road, 16-15 against the spread and 20-11 with the under.
Indiana is giving up just 100.9 points per game while holding opponents to only 43.7 percent shooting. Both stats are best in the NBA. Offensively, the Pacers are putting up just 106.2 points per game, but shoot the ball pretty well. They are 47.3 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from the arc. Victor Oladipo is leading the team with 20.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is adding 14.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per contest.
Raptors banged up
Toronto has struggled to have a full lineup in recent weeks and it has led the Raptors to a 2-4 record over their last six games. The Raptors are now 23-9 on the season, 11-4 at home, 15-17 against the spread and 18-14 with the over.
The Raptors are putting up 114.8 points per game on offense this season while shooting 48.4 percent from the floor. Defensively, Toronto is giving up just 107.3 points per game while opponents shoot 44.4 percent from the floor and 33.5 percent from the arc. Already without Jonas Valanciunas until January, both Serge Ibaka and Kyle Lowry are questionable tonight with injuries. Kawhi Leonard is leading the team with 26.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest. Ibaka averages 16.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while Lowry averages 14.2 points and 10 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Indiana
The Pacers are 14-5 against the spread in their last 19 against Atlantic opponents and 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on no rest.
Toronto
The Raptors are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five at home and 1-6 ATS in their last seven against the Central division.
Prediction:
The Pacers had their win streak end and have a quick turnaround, but the Raptors are giving up a lot of points and in their worst funk of the season. It’s probably related to the loss of their center to injury. Lowry has missed the last few games already and Ibaka is new to the injury report. Neither will likely be 100 percent if they play and I think that will create a lot of scoring problems against the league’s best defense.
NBA Prediction: Indiana Pacers +7.5
