Raptors get back on track
After a three-game losing streak against top teams a little over a week ago, the Raptors have won three of their last four and covered the spread in their last two games. Toronto is 18-8 on the season, 7-5 on the road, 15-11 against the spread and 13-12-1 with the over.
The Raptors are putting up 111.7 points per game on offense this season while shooting 45.1 percent from the field. The Raptors are giving up just 105.7 points per game on defense, while holding opponents to 41.6 percent shooting. Pascal Siakam is leading Toronto this season with 25 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Kyle Lowry is adding 19 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists per outing.
Pistons fall to Wizards
The Detroit Pistons are coming off a 133-119 loss at home to the Washington Wizards, as the Pistons played without their top two players. Detroit is now 11-16 on the season, 7-5 at home, 11-15-1 against the spread and 15-12 with the over.
Detroit is putting up 109.3 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.8 percent as a team and 38.5 percent from the arc. Defensively, the Pistons are giving up 109.6 points per game while opponents shoot 46.8 percent against them. Detroit was without both Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin on Monday due to injuries. Both are listed as questionable for tonight as well. Drummond averages 17.7 points and 16.6 rebounds per game. Griffin averages 16.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Toronto
The Raptors are 15-6 against the spread in their last 21 games as a favorite and 5-2 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games.
Detroit
The Pistons are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games following a loss, but just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a double-digit loss at home.
Prediction:
The Raptors already picked up a 125-113 win at home over Detroit on Oct. 30, covering a 9.5-point spread. The big question is the health of the Pistons, so you will have to keep an eye on that before placing your bet. As of this writing, it’s uncertain whether Drummond and/or Griffin will play. Griffin has a knee injury, which is concerning given his offseason surgery. Drummond is more of an allergic reaction during his trip to Mexico. Even at full strength, the Pistons probably can’t handle the Toronto defense. The Pistons aren’t playing their usually strong defense and they still struggle to score consistently. Toronto has the defense to lock up the Pistons and get the cover on the road.
