Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, the Celtics are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Mavericks. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 218.5 points. The public betting currently has 70 percent going on Boston as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Celtics lose back-to-back

Boston has had six days off since a back-to-back where it lost to the Pacers and the 76ers, failing to cover in either game. The Celtics are 17-7 on the season, 7-6 on the road, 14-8-2 against the spread and 14-10 with the under.

The Celtics are putting up 110.8 points per game on offense this season while shooting 45.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Boston is giving up 104.1 points per game while opponents shoot 43.5 percent against them. New addition Kemba Walker is leading the Celtics this season with 23.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Jayson Tatum is adding 20.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest.

No Luka, No problem

The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a surprising 120-116 win at Milwaukee to end the Bucks’ 18-game win streak on Monday. The Mavs did so without Luka Doncic, who is out with an ankle injury right now. Dallas comes into this game 18-8 overall, 10-2 on the road, 16-10 against the spread and 18-8 with the over.

Dallas is putting up 118.2 points per game on offense this year while shooting 46.6 percent as a team. The Mavs are allowing 109.2 points per contest while opponents shoot 44.4 percent against them. Doncic has been averaging 29.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game for the Mavs this year. Kristaps Porzingis is adding 17.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while Tim Hardaway Jr. is adding 13 points per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Boston

The Celtics are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games when playing on three or more days of rest and 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 road games against a team with a winning home record.

Dallas

The Mavericks are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games playing on 1 day of rest and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog.

Prediction:

Boston won the first meeting this season with Dallas at home, 116-106. The Celtics were also a 3-point favorite in that one. I think the Mavs beating Milwaukee is going to work in Boston’s favor tonight. The Celtics won’t be able to take Dallas lightly because of it and I expect the Celtics at their best. I wouldn’t expect the Mavericks to be able to catch Boston off guard and I think the Mavs will struggle to sustain offense without Doncic in the lineup. They took advantage of Milwaukee not taking them seriously, but Boston should lock in defensively and give the Mavs a hard time tonight.

NBA Prediction: Boston Celtics -3
