Kings heating up
Sacramento is coming off a 100-79 win at Golden State on Sunday for its fourth win in five games. The Kings are 12-14 on the season, 6-9 on the road, 16-10 against the spread and 17-9 with the under.
The Kings are struggling on offense this season, averaging just 104.8 points per game while shooting 45.3 percent as a team. Defensively, Sacramento is allowing just 106.9 points per game, even though opponents shoot 46.8 percent against them. Buddy Hield has been leading the Kings with 21.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. De’Aaron Fox is adding 18.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per contest.
Hornets return home
Charlotte is coming off a 107-85 loss at Indiana on Sunday to wrap up a three-game road trip. The Hornets had won and covered in three straight prior to that. Charlotte is 12-17 on the season, 6-8 at home, 15-14 against the spread and 15-14 with the under.
The Hornets are putting up 104.5 points per game this season while shooting 43.6 percent as a team. Defensively, Charlotte is allowing 111.1 points per game while opponents shoot 47.6 percent against them. Devonte’ Graham has been leading the Hornets this season with 19.6 points and 7.4 assists per game. Terry Rozier is adding 16.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Sacramento
The Kings are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as a road favorite and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games playing on 1 day of rest.
Charlotte
The Hornets have covered the spread in four straight road games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record.
Prediction:
These two met back on Oct. 30, with the Hornets getting a 118-111 road victory. Charlotte has actually won four of its last five meetings with the Kings. Both teams have been streaky this year and it’s hard to really get a feel for what to expect from them night-to-night. The Kings are playing well as of late and have done a good job of covering this season. However, I think that is why oddsmakers are making such a notable road favorite. The Kings are still just 6-9 on the road this year and I can’t trust them to go on the road and take it to a Hornets team that still has some pieces to work with. I think the low-scoring style of Sacramento will play into a Charlotte team that also has trouble scoring. I expect the Hornets to keep this tight, if not win it outright.
NBA Prediction: Charlotte Hornets +4.5
