Lakers coming off another road loss

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a 126-111 loss at Houston on Thursday, their second consecutive road defeat. The Lakers are 17-11 overall, 6-7 on the road, 11-16-1 against the spread and 17-10-1 with the under.

Hornets upset by Knicks

The Charlotte Hornets had their three-game win streak come to an end on Friday night in a 126-124 OT loss to the Knicks. Charlotte is now 14-14 on the season, 10-6 at home, 16-12 against the spread and 15-13 with the over.

NBA Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Lakers are 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 against Eastern Conference opponents.

Charlotte

The Hornets are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five home games, but 4-1 ATS in their last five games on no rest.

Prediction:

The Hornets have been able to handle back-to-back games pretty well this season, but playing an OT game last night will have to leave them tired for a game tonight against a high-paced Lakers offense. Los Angeles can stretch the floor and keep the game up tempo. Usually Charlotte likes that style, but I think their legs will be a little slower tonight after scrapping with New York last night.

NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers -2
