Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, Dallas is favored at home in this game, as the Mavericks are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Heat. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 215.5 points. The public betting currently has 58 percent going on the Mavericks as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Heat fall short to Lakers

Miami had a competitive battle with Los Angeles at home last night, but suffered a 113-110 loss at home. However, the Heat did cover as an underdog. The Heat are 18-7 on the season, 7-6 on the road, 16-8-1 against the spread and 13-11-1 with the over.

The Heat are solid on defense this year, allowing just 106.4 points per game while holding opponents to 44 percent shooting from the field and 32.1 percent shooting from the arc. Offensively, Miami is putting up 111.9 points per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the floor and 37.8 percent from the arc. Along with playing last night, the Heat are already without Goran Dragic and Justise Winslow due to injuries. Jimmy Butler is leading the team with 20.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.8 assists per contest. Kendrick Nunn is adding 16.2 points and 3.6 assists per game.

Mavs win in Mexico

Dallas is coming off a 122-111 win against Detroit in Mexico on Thursday night. The Mavs have won and covered the spread in six of their last seven games. Dallas is 17-7 overall, 8-5 at home, 15-9 against the spread and 16-8 with the over.

The Mavericks are one of the better offenses in the league, averaging 118.1 points per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from the arc. Defensively, Dallas is giving up 108.4 points per game while opponents shoot 44.6 percent against them. Luka Doncic is leading Dallas with 30.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game. Kristaps Porzingis is adding 16.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

The Heat are 5-1 against the spread in their last six Saturday games, but just 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.

The Mavericks are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games as a home favorite and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a win.

This is the first meeting between these two teams this season. They are built somewhat similar in their style of play. This is a tough turnaround for the Heat. They are already a little short on depth with injuries and they are coming off a tough game last night at home. Now they have to travel to play a rest Dallas team that has had just one game in the last six days. The last time Miami had a back-to-back with a road game at the end, it saw them run over by Boston, 112-93. Doncic is playing at an MVP-level right now and I think he is going to be able to push a tempo that Miami won’t be able to deal with tonight. I think the Mavericks are going to have too much gas in their tank for Miami to compete with tonight.

NBA Prediction: Dallas Mavericks -7.5
