Nets win back-to-back games
Brooklyn has picked up back-to-back wins, beating the Raptors and Knicks over the weekend. The Nets have also covered the spread in three straight games. Brooklyn is 10-18 on the season, 6-8 on the road, 13-15 against the spread and 15-13 with the under.
The Nets have been middle of the road on both sides of the ball this year. The offense is averaging 108.7 points per game while shooting just 44.2 percent from the field. The defense is giving up 110.6 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 46.2 percent. The team lost Caris LeVert indefinitely due to a foot injury. He was the leading scorer at 18.4 points per game. De’Angelo Russell is now the leading scorer with 18.1 points and 5.9 assists per game.
76ers streaking
Philadelphia is coming off back-to-back wins over the Pistons and they have won eight of their last 10 contests, covering the spread in five of their last six as well. The 76ers are 19-9 on the season, 14-1 at home, 13-15 against the spread and 16-12 with the over.
The 76ers are scoring 113.9 points per game this year while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Defensively, Philly is giving up 111.5 points per game while holding opponents to 44.2 percent shooting. The team is expected to be without Jimmy Butler tonight, as he is listed as doubtful with a groin injury. He has been averaging nearly 20 points per game with Philadelphia. Joel Embiid is leading the team with 26.3 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.96 blocks per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Brooklyn
The Nets have covered the spread in four straight against Atlantic opponents and they are 17-8 against the spread in their last 25 road games.
Philadelphia
The 76ers have covered the spread in four straight home games, but are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven against Atlantic opponents.
Prediction:
These two have met twice this season and Brooklyn has covered in both games, though both were at home. Philly has been very good at home this season. Despite losing Butler, that may allow Joel Embiid to run the style of offense he wants. I would suspect he is in for a big game tonight, as Brooklyn doesn’t have anyone to really contend with him. Brooklyn isn’t proven to play consistently on the road, so I will go with the team that is 14-1 at home this year.
NBA Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers -7
