Knicks still losing

New York recently fired coach David Fizdale, but it hasn’t helped the Knicks win. They are on a 10-game losing streak after a 115-87 loss at Portland last night. They have failed to cover in four of their last five as well. The Knicks are 4-20 on the year, 1-10 on the road, 11-13 against the spread and 16-8 with the under.

The Knicks are one of the worst offenses in the league, scoring just 100 points per game while shooting 41.8 percent as a team. Defensively, the Knicks are giving up 111.1 points per game, while opponents shoot 46.6 percent against them and 38.9 percent from the arc. Marcus Morris Sr. is leading the team with 18.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Julius Randle is adding 16.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest.

Warriors fall at home

Golden State returned home from a five-game road trip out East where it went 1-4. The Warriors suffered a 110-102 loss at home to Memphis on Monday night. Golden State is 5-20 on the season, 2-8 at home, 11-14 against the spread and 14-11 with the under.

The Warriors have been able to score somewhat, averaging 104.6 points per game while shooting 43.1 percent. However, they are giving up 113.8 points per game. Opponents are shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from the arc against them. D’Angelo Russell is leading the team with 22 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. These two have yet to meet this season and both are certainly hard to trust to perform at any level. However, Golden State still has some All-Star capable players. The Knicks just don’t have the talent. No disrespect to Marcus Morris, but he shouldn’t be the go-to player on a franchise. The Knicks have had three of their last four games decided by 30 points or more. They just aren’t competitive. Golden State should be able to beat this team at home thanks to their stronger scoring ability.
