Are the Detroit Pistons going to end their five-game losing streak at home this afternoon against the Boston Celtics? Game time is 4PM ET.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Celtics are a 1.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 203 points.

Boston comes into action with a 22-5 and 19-7-1 ATS after a 105-102 loss at the Spurs which ended a four-game winning streak. Detroit is 14-11 overall and 16-7-2 ATS following a 102-98 home loss to the Warriors, its fifth consecutive defeat. The Pistons won the first meeting this season by a count of 118-108 in Boston. The Celtics are 3-2 straight up and 2-3 ATS in five meetings since the start of last seaosn.

Boston was led by Kyrie Irving with 36 points in the loss at San Antonio. Jayson Tatum contributed 20 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Jaylen Brown added 15 points, five boards and two assists. The Celtics were outscored 28-20 in the fourth quarter.

Detroit was paced by Avery Bradley with 25 points and four rebounds in the loss to Golden State. Reggie Jackson contributed 16 points, three rebounds and two assists. Tobias Harris added 11 points, five boards and two assists. The Pistons cut a double-digit deficit down to one basket in the final minute, but a Jackson shot that could have tied the game was off the mark and the Warriors closed it out.

Boston is 5-1 ATS in its last six meetings in Detroit. The under is 4-0-1 in the last five Pistons games.

Bet on Pistons vs. Warriors

The Pistons desperately want to end their skid, but they can take solace in the fact that most of the losses were against good teams on the road and it was followed by a defeat at home versus the NBA's most dominant team. Now it doesn't get any easier with a matchup against the team with the NBA's best record. As I stated before the Celtics' last loss, they are likely headed for some ATS regression. They proceeded to lose straight up and ATS at the Spurs that night. With Detroit's desperation and Boston probably not keeping up its current pace, we like the hosts as a very small dog today.
