Spurs vs. Celtics Pick
Will the Boston Celtics take down another opponent tonight when they play at the San Antonio Spurs? Tip-off is at 9:30 PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Spurs are a 2-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 198 points.
Boston comes in at 22-4 overall and 19-6-1 ATS after a 97-90 home win over the Mavericks, its fourth straight victory. San Antonio is 17-8 overall and 13-11-1 ATS following a 117-105 home win over the Heat. The Celtics won the first meeting this season at home by a count of 108-94 on Oct. 30. The Spurs are 2-1 straight up and 2-1 ATS in three meetings since the start of last season. The over is 3-0.
In the victory over Dallas, Kyrie Irving led the way with 23 points along with five assists, two rebounds and two blocked shots. Al Horford contributed 17 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, three blocked shots and two steals. Jayson Tatum added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Boston outscored Dallas 27-17 in the fourth quarter.
San Antonio was paced by LaMarcus Aldridge with 18 points and four rebounds in the win over Miami. Bryn Forbes contributed 17 points, three rebounds and two assists off the bench. Rudy Gay chipped in with 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. The Spurs outscored the Heat 60-47 in the second half.
Boston is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings in San Antonio. The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
No one could have predicted this out of Boston after the Gordon Hayward broken ankle all the way back in the season opener. Not only are the Celtics winning games, but also covering the spread far more often than not. Eventually the ATS numbers even out and only defeating Dallas by seven the last game is evidence of that. The Spurs are very tough at home, going 12-2 straight up. Look for them to take down the Celtics as a small favorite on ESPN tonight.
