Will the Los Angeles Lakers find a solution to stop Joel Embiid and the host Philadelphia 76ers tonight at 8PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Sixers are an 8.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 219 points.

Los Angeles is 8-15 overall this season and 10-13 ATS after a 118-95 home loss to the Rockets, its fifth straight loss. Philadelphia is 13-10 overall and 15-8 ATS following a 115-101 home loss to the Suns. The 76ers won the first meeting this season by a count of 115-109 in LA on Nov. 15. Philadelphia is 2-1 straight up and 2-1 ATS in three meetings since the start of last season. The over is 2-1.

The Lakers were led by Kyle Kuzma with 22 points and 12 rebounds off the bench in the loss to Houston. Brandon Ingram contributed 18 points, nine boards and five assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 16 points, three rebounds and two steals. Los Angeles was outscored 67-41 in the second and fourth quarters combined.

JJ Redick shot 9-of-16 from the floor and scored a team-best 25 points in the loss to Phoenix. Embiid tallied 22 points, 12 rebounds, four blocked shots and two assists. Ben Simmons added 20 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and six steals. Philadelphia was outscored 60-47 in the first half.

Los Angeles is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Philadelphia. The 76ers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a double-digit loss at home.

Bet on Lakers vs. 76ers 

Embiid had a career night in the game at Los Angeles last month as he registered 46 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and seven blocks over 34 minutes to will the Sixers to victory. Expect the Lakers to employ different tactics against him this game, but the question is whether it will do enough to make a difference. Philadelphia is going to be motivated for this game after allowing the inferior Suns to dominate at its arena the last time out. Look for the 76ers to win in a rout tonight.
