Suns hammered again

The Suns lost their sixth straight game on Tuesday night, 122-105 at home against the Sacramento Kings. Phoenix is now 4-20 on the season, 1-11 on the road, 8-16 against the spread and 14-10 with the under. The Suns have failed to cover in six straight games as well.

Phoenix hasn’t had much go in its favor this year. Offensively, the Suns average just 103.0 points per game while shooting just 33.5 percent from the arc. Defensively, Phoenix is giving up 114 points per game and allowing opponents to shoot 48.4 percent from the floor. They are currently without their two leading scorers in Devin Booker and T.J. Warren due to injuries. Rookie Deandre Ayton is leading the team right now with 16 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while Trevor Ariza is adding 10 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.

Blazers on a skid

The Blazers have lost three straight and six of their last seven following a 111-102 defeat at Dallas on Tuesday night. Portland is 13-11 on the season, 8-4 at home, 11-13 against the spread and 14-10 with the over. The Blazers have failed to cover in eight straight.

Portland has been able to score this year, as they average 112.5 points per game. They also rank second in the NBA in rebounding, averaging 49.1 per game. The defense hasn’t been as strong. The Blazers give up 111.7 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 37.6 percent from the arc. The offense could be short-handed tonight, as CJ McCollum is questionable to play due to an ankle injury. He is averaging 21.3 points per game this season. Damian Lillard is leading the way with 27.3 points and 6.3 assists per game while Jusuf Nurkic is adding 15 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

NBA Betting Trends

Phoenix

The Suns are 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games against a team with a winning home record.

Portland

The Blazers are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 Thursday games and 24-10 ATS in their last 34 home games.

Prediction:

Both teams have really struggled to cover as of late, but I think the Blazers will snap that streak tonight. Phoenix just doesn’t having the scoring to compete right now and Ayton is going to have his hands full with Nurkic, limiting what he will be able to contribute. Lillard should be set to have a big game against the depleted guards of the Suns. Phoenix has lost four straight by at least 14 points and the Blazers should be able to make it five.

NBA Prediction: Portland Trail Blazers -13.5
