Washington Wizards Fantasy Spin
According to a report by Marc Berman in the New York Post, "some in the league believe the Knicks are stocking up their young assets and will make a major play for John Wall if he becomes available." Although seemingly quite far-fetched, Berman writes that the "it would have to be a three-team deal with the Knicks throwing in Ntilikina, Dotson, Courtney Lee (for cap purposes), a 2020 first-round and second-round pick." We'll see if any other plugged-in league sources corroborate any conversations between New York and Washington.
Atlanta Hawks Fantasy Spin
Taurean Prince (left ankle) will miss at least the next three weeks of action. An MRI revealed a ligament sprain, bone bruise and associated soft tissue inflammation in his left ankle, so he'll be re-evaluated in three weeks. If all goes well, Prince might be able to get back to the court for Atlanta's first game after Christmas on December 26, but in the meantime, it'll be Kent Bazemore, DeAndre Bembry and Kevin Huerter picking up the slack. Bembry has solid upside with defensive stats, so he could be worth an add in deep leagues.
NBA Betting Trends
Washington
The Wizards are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous contest.
Atlanta
The Hawks have failed to cover the spread in six of their last seven home games.
Prediction
The Hawks have struggled both on the hardwood and at the betting window recently but this spread is too high given how the Wizards have not been covering on the road. In their last 19 games away from Washington, they’re just 7-19 at the betting window. They’re also just 7-20-1 against the number in their last 28 road games versus an opponent with a losing home record.
