Nuggets secure fifth straight win at Blazers

Denver (15-7) held on for a 113-112 victory Friday night at Portland as C.J. McCollum came up short for the hosts on a jumper at the buzzer. Gary Harris returned from an ankle injury that kept him out two games to score a team-best 27 points on 9-of-21 shooting. He added three rebounds and three assists. Paul Millsap contributed 22 points, 10 boards, four assists and four steals. Monte Morris tallied 16 points, four rebounds and two assists off the bench. Nikola Jokic had 15 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Jamal Murray added 10 points, six dimes and two boards. The Nuggets held on despite being outscored 59-45 in the second half.

Raptors win eighth straight at Cavs

Toronto won its eighth consecutive game Saturday night with a 105-96 triumph at Cleveland. Point guard Kyle Lowry (back) missed the contest and is questionable to play tonight. Kawhi Leonard, who was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week today, scored a game-best 34 points on 11-of-21 shooting and 9-of-9 at the free throw line to pace the Raptors. He had nine rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. Pascal Siakam accounted for 15 points, five boards and five assists. Fred VanVleet registered 15 points, four assists and three rebounds. Danny Green accounted for 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Serge Ibaka added 10 points and six boards. The game was tied through one quarter before Toronto took a 47-40 lead into halftime.

NBA Betting Trends

Denver

The Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in their last four games played on two days of rest. Denver is 5-0 ATS in its last five games overall.

Toronto

The Raptors are 0-6 ATS in their last six home games versus the Nuggets. The over is 6-0 in the last six meetings in Toronto.

Prediction:

This should be a very entertaining game to watch and if Lowry is out, I want to pounce on the Nuggets. Even if he plays, Denver is on a roll right now and taking the points is certainly not a bad idea. Toronto struggled to put away lowly Cleveland Saturday night and that shows you how important Lowry is to making everything click. I'm taking the Nuggets to keep it close at an arena where they've enjoyed success in past years.
