Mavs crushed by Clippers

Dallas had its five-game winning streak snapped Tuesday night with a 114-99 home loss to Los Angeles. The Mavericks (11-6, 6-4 home) trailed 62-46 at halftime en route to the defeat. Luka Doncic led Dallas with 22 points on 4-of-14 shooting plus 14-of-16 at the free throw line. He also accounted for eight rebounds, six assists and three steals. Kristaps Porzingis had 15 points, 10 boards and two steals. Seth Curry registered 13 points and two caroms off the bench. J.J. Barea tallied 12 points and tw orebounds as a reserve. Dwight Powell added 10 points, three boards and three steals.

Suns fall to Wizards

Phoenix lost 140-132 at home Wednesday night against Washington to drop to 8-9 overall and 5-6 at home. The Suns trailed by five at halftime and were outscored 34-26 in the third quarter en route to the defeat. Devin Booker led Phoenix with 27 points on 10-of-20 shooting including 2-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-5 at the charity stripe. He also registered eight assists and two rebounds. Ricky Rubio tallied 18 points and four assists. Dario Saric had 17 points, 12 boards, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Cheick Diallo recorded 17 points and 10 caroms off the bench. Cameron Johnson had 17 points and four rebounds as a reserve. Elie Okobo accumulated 13 points and eight assists off the bench. Kelly Oubre Jr. accounted for 12 points and three boards. Tyler Johnson added 11 points, four rebounds and four dimes as a reserve.

NBA Betting Trends

The Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Dallas is 12-3-1 ATS in its last 16 road games.

The Suns are 4-1 ATS in their last five Friday games. Phoenix is 6-2 ATS in its last eight games played on one day of rest.

The Mavericks had a rough going of it against LA, which kind of shows they are a player or two away from being a top team in the Western Conference. But with Doncic they always have a shot as he is becoming a star before our own eyes at the age of 20. With Phoenix struggling lately, I like the Mavs to bounce back from their rough showing and get a win behind their fearless young leader.
