Celtics struggle at Mavs

Boston lost for the fourth time in five games Saturday night with a 113-104 loss at the Mavericks. The Celtics trailed 59-56 at halftime and were unable to get over the hump after the break. Jayson Tatum led Boston (10-10) with 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting with four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Kyrie Irving tallied 19 points, six assists, five boards and two steals. Marcus Smart contributed 19 points, two rebounds and two dimes off the bench. Jaylen Brown contributed 16 points and five rebounds, but will miss tonight's game after sustaining an injury. Marcus Morris added 13 points, five rebounds and two assists.

Pelicans drop third straight on road

New Orleans is 8-1 this season on its home court, but now only 2-9 on the road after suffering a third straight defeat in a 124-114 loss at Washington Saturday night. Superstar center Anthony Davis missed the contest, but is expected to return to action tonight. Julius Randle filled in for Davis and also filled up the stat sheet with 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting plus 8-of-10 at the free throw line. He also had 15 rebounds and seven assists. Nikola Mirotic contributed 24 points and nine rebounds. E'Twaun Moore had 19 points, six steals, five boards and two assists. Jrue Holiday tallied 16 points, nine assists and five rebounds. Darius Miller added 10 points and two rebounds.

NBA Betting Trends

The Celtics are 0-5 ATS in their last five games. Boston is 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings.

New Orleans

The Pelicans are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Monday games. New Orleans is 0-8 ATS in its last eight games following a straight up loss.

With Davis back in the fold, this seems like a fairly straightforward decision for me. New Orleans has been great at home while not only is Boston struggling but also without a key piece in Brown. I feel like the spread is a point or two too small and take advantage before it might go up.
