Thunder vs. Mavericks Pick
Are the Oklahoma City Thunder going to rebound from a loss a day ago to cover the spread as favorites at the Dallas Mavericks? Tip-off is at 8:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Thunder are a 6-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 200 points.
Oklahoma City comes into action with an 8-10 overall record and 8-10 ATS after a 99-98 home loss to the Pistons on Friday night. Dallas is 4-15 overall and 6-13 ATS following a 95-94 victory at the Grizzlies Wednesday night. The Thunder won this season's first meeting by a count of 112-99 at home on Nov. 12. Oklahoma City is 3-1 straight up and 2-2 ATS in four meetings since the start of last season. The over is 3-2.
The Thunder were led by Russell Westbrook with a triple-double of 27 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. But he missed what would have been a go-ahead 3-pointer in the closing seconds. Carmelo Anthony contributed 20 points along with eight rebounds and three assists. Paul George added 16 points and five steals. Oklahoma City was outscored 50-39 in the second half.
Harrison Barnes hit a 30-footer at the buzzer to send the Mavs to the win at Memphis. He had team-highs with 22 points and nine rebounds. Dennis Smith Jr. registered 17 points, four boards and three assists. Dirk Nowitzki added 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Dallas outscored the hosts 56-38 in the second half.
The Mavericks are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following an ATS win. The over is 28-11-1 in the last 40 meetings in Dallas.
Look for OKC to rebound nicely from last night and cover the spread here. The Thunder have struggled mightily in the fourth quarter of close games as they figure out who should the go-to scorer, but when they can get out in front of an opponent it can lead to decisive wins. Oklahoma City will be heavily motivated to not blow another game as it did last night.
