Heat win fifth straight

Miami secured a 116-108 victory Friday night at Chicago to improve to 11-3 overall and 5-3 on the road. The Heat led 67-43 at halftime before taking their foot off the gas pedal after the break. Jimmy Butler led the way against his former team with 27 points on 7-of-10 shooting including 1-of-2 from 3-point range plus 12-of-13 at the free throw line. He also notched seven assists, five rebounds and four steals. Kendrick Nunn accouted for 21 points, three boards and two assists. Bam Adebayo tallied 16 points, 14 caroms, six assists and three steals. Goran Dragic had 16 points, seven assists and two rebounds off the bench. Kelly Olynyk added 10 points and four boards as a reserve.

Sixers roll past Spurs

Philadelphia earned a 115-104 home win Friday night over San Antonio to move to 10-5 overall and 6-0 at home. Tobias Harris led the 76ers with 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting including 3-of-5 from 3-point range plus 3-of-4 at the free throw line. He also recorded six rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots. Joel Embiid tallied 21 points, 14 boards and three dimes. Al Horford had 18 points, nine caroms and six assists. Furkan Korkmaz accounted for 17 points, four rebounds and two steals. James Ennis III registered 13 points and three boards off the bench. Ben Simmons added 10 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds and two steals. Philadelphia led 29-22 after one quarter and continued to control the action from there.

Both teams are on a back-to-back, but Philly gets to remain at home while Miami traveled. The Sixers have been awesome at home, whereas the Heat have been much more vulnerable on the road. I think all signs point to a strong performance from Philadelphia here as it looks to continue its recent strong play and protect its home floor.
