Rockets hold off Pistons

Detroit outscored Houston 41-33 in the fourth quarter Wednesday night, but the host Rockets managed to hang on for their fifth consecutive win by a count of 126-114. James Harden had a huge night with 41 points on 10-of-20 shooting plus a perfect 19-of-19 at the charity stripe. He added nine assists, seven rebounds and four steals. Clint Capela tallied 27 points, 15 boards and four blocked shots. Chris Paul recorded 20 points, seven dimes and two rebounds. James Ennis III added 14 points and two rebounds.

Griffin leads charge for Detroit

Pistons power forward Blake Griffin accumulated 37 points on 9-of-21 shooting including 6-of-9 from 3-point range and 13-of-15 at the free throw line in the loss to Houston. He also had 11 rebounds and four assists, but did commit nine turnovers. Andre Drummond chipped in with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Langston Galloway had 13 points and two rebounds off the bench. Ish Smith tallied 11 points, four assists and two boards as a reserve. Stanley Johnson added 10 points, two rebounds and two steals off the bench.

NBA Betting Trends

Houston

The under is 5-0 in the last five Rockets road games. Houston is 5-1 ATS when its opponent allows 100 or more points in the previous game.

Detroit

The Pistons are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings. Detroit is 5-1 ATS after scoring 100 or more points in its previous game.

Prediction:

The Pistons have fared well in this series, at least from an ATS standpoint. They played Houston tough two days ago and I expect the same on their home court. While the Rockets are the better team, Detroit seems to match up well and a strong night from Griffin can keep them in any game. Take the points with the Pistons tonight.
