Celtics fall to Clippers in OT

Jayson Tatum sent the game into overtime Wednesday night at Los Angeles with a 3-pointer, but Boston could not get past the hosts in the extra session as it fell 107-104. The Celtics (11-3, 6-3 away) were outscored 28-22 in the fourth quarter and 10-7 in OT. Tatum paced Boston with 30 points on 12-of-24 shooting including 5-of-10 from 3-point range plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also registered six rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Marcus Smart accounted for 15 points, eight dimes, three boards and two steals. Brad Wanamaker tallied 14 points, five assists and three caroms off the bench. Kemba Walker added 13 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

Nuggets take down Rockets

Denver earned a 105-95 home win Wednesday night over Houston to improve to 10-3 overall and 5-2 at home. The Nuggets led 82-73 through three quarters on their way to the victory. Nikola Jokic led Denver with 27 points on 12-of-19 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point range plus 1-of-1 at the charity stripe. He also racked up 12 rebounds and four assists. Will Barton had 15 points, seven boards and three assists. Paul Millsap tallied 11 points, six caroms, three steals and two assists. Jamal Murray registered 10 points, nine dimes and six steals. Gary Harris added 10 points, three assists and two steals.

Prediction:

This will undoubtedly be a fantastic game as both teams are very good defensively and efficient on the offensive end. The Celtics took the Clippers to the wire the other night, but with some road fatigued setting in and in the thin air of Denver I like the hosts tonight. The Nuggets slowed down the previously red-hot Rockets a couple nights ago and I think they have the right formula to take care of business again here.
