Celtics take down Suns

Boston recorded a 99-85 home victory Monday night at Phoenix to improve to 11-2 overall and 6-2 on the road. The Celtics led 57-42 at halftime en route to the triumph. Jayson Tatum led Boston with 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting including 3-of-9 from 3-point range plus 7-of-9 at the free throw line. He also registered 11 rebounds and three assists. Kemba Walker tallied 19 points, five assists and two boards. Marcus Smart had 17 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals. Jaylen Brown accumulated 14 points, nine caroms and three assists. Brad Wanamaker added 10 points, six dimes and three steals off the bench.

Clippers edge Thunder

Los Angeles picked up a 90-88 home win Monday night over Oklahoma City to improve to 9-5 overall and 8-1 at home. The Clippers outscored the Thunder 48-41 in the second half of the victory. Montrezl Harrell led LA with 28 points off the bench on 13-of-20 shooting plus 2-of-4 at the free throw line. He also racked up 12 rebounds and five assists. Paul George tallied 18 points, seven boards and four assists. Ivica Zubac had 12 points and 10 caroms. Lou Williams added 11 points and nine dimes.

Prediction:

Boston has risen to the occasion against the toughest teams thus far on its schedule and I doubt its any different here. The Clippers are still awaiting the return of Kawhi Leonard so him and George can see the court together and it might not happen again tonight. This is a game LA could really use Leonard against the tough-nosed wings of the Celtics. I think the visitors take advantage and cover this spread if not win outright.
