Are the Denver Nuggets going to cover the spread as a road favorite tonight at 9:30PM ET when they play the host Los Angeles Lakers?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Nuggets are a 5.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 223 points.

Denver comes in with a 9-6 overall record and 6-9 ATS after a 146-114 home blowout win over the Pelicans. Los Angeles is 6-10 overall and 7-9 ATS following a 122-113 home loss to the Suns. The Nuggets went 2-1 straight up and ATS in three meetings last season. The over-under went 3-0.

In the victory over New Orleans, Jamal Murray led the way with 31 points and four assists. Gary Harris contributed 22 points and five assists. bPaul Millsap added 20 points, seven assists, six rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots. Denver led 37-19 after one quarter and after the Pelicans trimmed it to a 64-56 game by halftime, the hosts proceeded to outscore New Orleans 42-24 in the third quarter.

The Lakers received a 30-point and 10-rebound performance from rookie Kyle Kuzma in the loss to Phoenix. Brook Lopez had 19 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. Brandon Ingram added 17 points, eight boards and four assists. Los Angeles trailed 65-53 at halftime.

Denver is 7-1 ATS in its last eight meetings in Los Angeles. The over is 4-0-1 in the last five meetings in Los Angeles.

Bet on Nuggets vs. Lakers

Denver has given more minutes of late to Murray and he is clearly thriving, as evidenced by the 31-point outburst against New Orleans. When the Nuggets offense is clicking, they can be almost unstoppable. It's just a matter of Denver playing a little defense. Los Angeles doesn't provide the toughest matchup here and we expect the visitors to cover the spread.
