Trail Blazers rally past Spurs
Portland picked up a 121-116 victory Saturday night at San Antonio as it rallied back after earlier blowing a big first-half lead. The Trail Blazers (5-8, 4-4 away) outscored the Spurs 31-20 in the fourth quarter of the win. C.J. McCollum paced Portland with 32 points on 13-of-25 shooting including 6-of-11 from 3-point range. He also accounted for seven assists and six rebounds. Damian Lillard contributed 22 points, six boards and six dimes. Hassan Whiteside tallied 21 points, 12 caroms and three blocked shots. Rodney Hood added 16 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Rockets race past T-Wolves
Houston earned a 125-105 win Saturday night at Minnesota to improve to 10-3 overall and 5-2 on the road. The Rockets outscored the Timberwolves 61-43 in the second half to pull away. James Harden led Houston with 49 points on 16-of-41 shooting including 8-of-22 from 3-point range plus 9-of-11 at the free throw line. He also registered six assists and five rebounds. NBA Betting Trends
The Trail Blazers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games versus the Southwest Division. Portland is 2-5-1 in its last eight games overall.
The Rockets are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. Houston is 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings with the Trail Blazers.
The Trail Blazers are better than their record and mostly need to shore some things up defensively while also getting continued strong play from McCollum to go with what has been a mostly outstanding season thus far by Lillard. I think Portland matches up well with Houston and I expect this one to stay close. Take the points with the Blazers.
