Nuggets snap four-game skid

Denver broke its four-game losing streak in emphatic fashion Thursday night at home with a 138-93 victory over the Hawks. The Nuggets (10-5) led 35-23 after the first quarter and otuscored Atlanta in every quarter. Juancho Hernangomez paced Denver with 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting with nine rebounds. Paul Millsap tallied 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocked shots. Gary Harris contributed 18 points, four assists, three boards and two blocks. Malik Beasley had 15 points, three rebounds and three assists off the bench. Trey Lyles tallied 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists as a reserve. Jamal Murray had 14 points, five dimes and four caroms off the bench. Nikola Jokic added 12 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

Pelicans run past Knicks

New Orleans won its fourth game out of its last five Friday night with a 129-124 home win over the Knicks. Anthony Davis put in a season-high 43 points in the victory on 16-of-25 shooting to go with 17 rebounds and five assists.Jrue Holiday registered 24 points, 10 assists and four boards. Julius Randle contributed 19 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. E'Twaun Moore had 13 points and two rebounds. Nikola Mirotic added 12 points and 10 boards. Elfrid Payton broke his pinkie finger eight minutes into his return from injury and did not return.

Prediction:

The Pelicans have played better as of late, but have taken advantage of a few cupcake opponents in addition to a quality win at Toronto. I still think New Orleans will be an up-and-down team all season and here it runs into a tough matchup against a Denver squad that looks to be clicking on all cylinders again after a rough stretch. I like the visitors here as they had a day off coming into this one unlike the Pelicans.
