Rockets vs. Suns Pick
Can the Houston Rockets cover the spread as a massive road favorite tonight at the Phoenix Suns? Tip-off is at 10:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Rockets are listed as a 12.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 228 points.
Houston enters with a 11-4 record and 8-7 ATS after a 129-113 home loss to the Raptors Tuesday night. Phoenix 5-10 overall and 6-9 ATS following a 100-93 home loss to the Lakers. The Rockets went 4-0 straight up and 3-1 ATS in four meetings last season. The over went 4-0.
In Houston's loss to Toronto, James Harden poured in 38 points to go with 11 assists and six rebounds. Trevor Ariza had 20 points and eight boards. Tarik Black added 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench. The Rockets led 33-31 after one quarter, but were outscored 45-31 in the second stanza and could not recover.
The Suns were paced by Devin Booker as he recorded 36 points, four rebounds and three assists in the loss to LA. TJ Warren contributed 23 points and eight rebounds. Dragan Bender added 15 points and five boards off the bench. Phoenix was outscored 56-49 in the second half.
The over is 6-0 in the last six meetings. The Rockets are 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Phoenix.
The Rockets had a dud at home against a good Toronto team a couple days ago and will want to rebound against one of the NBA's weakest teams. They also have the bonus of point guard Chris Paul returning to the lineup, although he will be on a minutes restriction that likely won't exceed 20 minutes. Harden has been on a tear and look for him to completely take control of this contest, turning it into a blowout.
