Celtics blast Hornets

Boston cruised to a 108-87 victory Thursday night at Charlotte to improve to 6-1 on the season and 3-1 on the road. Jayson Tatum paced the Celtics with 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting including 4-of-6 from 3-point range plus 3-of-4 on the road. He also notched nine rebounds and two steals. Gordon Hayward contributed 20 points, 10 boards and six assists. Kemba Walker accounted for 14 points, six assists and two rebounds. Jaylen Brown had 12 points and two caroms. Javonte Green added 12 points in 13 minutes off the bench. Boston outscored the Hornets 56-44 in the second half to pull away.

Spurs race past Thunder

San Antonio secured a 121-112 home win Thursday night over Oklahoma City to improve to 5-3 overall and 4-1 at home. The Spurs trailed by one at halftime, but outscored the Thunder 36-27 in the third quarter to take control. LaMarcus Aldridge led the way for San Antonio with a season-best 39 points on 19-of-23 shooting plus 2-of-3 at the free throw line. He also accounted for six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Dejounte Murray tallied 17 points, 10 assists and eight boards. DeMar DeRozan had 16 points, nine assists and six caroms. Bryn Forbes recorded 14 points, six rebounds and two assists. Patty Mills added 10 points and two rebounds off the bench.

NBA Betting Trends

Boston

The Celtics are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games. Boston is 1-4 ATS in its last five games versus the Southwest Division.

San Antonio

The Spurs are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games versus the Eastern Conference. San Antonio is 1-4 ATS in its last five home games.

Prediction:

Boston is on a roll but if you look at the three road wins during the streak - Knicks, Cavs and Hornets - it's not exactly a murderer's row. San Antonio was able to remain at home after Thursday's win whereas Boston had to travel in. With Aldridge looking rejuvenated last game, the Spurs have one of their biggest weapons once again playing up to his capabilities. Going with San Antonio to protect its home court here.
