Will the Los Angeles Clippers and host San Antonio Spurs stay under the total Tuesday night when they meet at 8:30PM EST?
Oddsmakers at sports book Bovada.lv have made the Spurs a 4-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 204 points.
The Clippers come in with a 5-4 record after a 104-101 home loss to the Heat Sunday afternoon. San Antonio is 6-4 following a 112-95 home win over the Suns. Los Angeles won three of four meetings straight up and ATS last season. The over-under went 2-2.
In the Clippers' loss to Miami, Blake Griffin accounted for 23 points along with eight rebounds and four assists. Lou Williams had 22 points off the bench. DeAndre Jordan added 10 points and 19 rebounds. Los Angeles outscored the Heat 35-15 in the fourth quarter but were unable to erase the entirety of a 25-point deficit.
The Spurs were paced by LaMarcus Aldridge in the win over Phoenix as he had 21 points and nine rebounds. Patty Mills contributed 17 points, four rebounds and four assists. Danny Green added 14 points. San Antonio trailed by four at halftime before outscoring the Suns 34-13 in the third quarter.
San Antonio is 0-4 ATS in its last four home games against a team with a winning record. Los Angeles is 5-1 ATS in its last six road games.
The Clippers have good recent history with the Spurs and are in need of a win after having a poor weekend with back-to-back home losses to the Grizzlies and Heat. While San Antonio always provides a tough challenge, it is not nearly the same team as when Kawhi Leonard is health and in the lineup. Look for Los Angeles to take advantage of his absence. But if you don't bet on the Clippers, we also like the under as both of these teams play at a slow and deliberate pace with a strong emphasis on defense.
