Heat crush Rockets
Miami led by as many as 41 points Sunday night in a 129-100 home victory over Houston. The Heat were up 46-14 after one quarter of play and continued to pour it on early in the second quarter. Duncan Robinson paced Miami with 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting including 7-of-11 from 3-point range. He also notched six rebounds and two blocked shots. Meyers Leonard had 21 points, four boards and three steals. Jimmy Butler tallied 18 points, nine assists, seven caroms and four steals. Nuggets prevail at Magic
Denver earned a 91-87 victory Saturday night at Orlando to improve to 4-2 overall and 3-1 on the road. The Nuggets trailed 45-40 at halftime before outscoring the Magic 29-18 in the third quarter. Jamal Murray paced Denver with 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting including 2-of-3 from 3-point range plus 6-of-6 at the free throw line. He also tallied four rebounds and two assists. NBA Betting Trends
The Heat are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Miami is 3-9 ATS in its last 12 Tuesday games.
The Nuggets are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. Denver is 9-4 ATS in its last 13 games played on two days of rest.
Denver hasn't been overly impressive thus far this season, but the talent is clearly there. Once Jokic gets in a groove, this team should be churning. But right now I don't want to fade a Miami team playing with a full deck and a ton of confidence. The Heat are getting contributions up and down their roster. While the thin air of Denver can be difficult, I like Miami here to at least make this contest go down to the wire.
