Nuggets hammered by Pelicans
Denver suffered a 122-107 loss Thursday night at New Orleans to drop to 3-2 overall and 2-1 on the road. The Nuggets were outscored in every quarter of the defeat. Michael Porter Jr. led Denver with 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting including 1-of-3 on 3-point atttempts plus 4-of-6 at the free throw line to go with four rebounds off the bench. Jamal Murray tallied 14 points, six assists and three boards. Jerami Grant had 14 points and five rebounds as a reserve. Nikola Jokic contributed 13 points, six caroms and six dimes. Malik Beasley registered 11 points and two rebounds off the bench. Paul Millsap recorded 10 points and three boards. Mason Plumlee added 10 points and seven rebounds as a reserve.
Magic crushed by Bucks
Orlando suffered a 123-91 home loss to Milwaukee Friday night to fall to 2-3 overall and 2-1 at home. The Magic trailed 62-41 at halftime on their way to the loss. Evan Fournier led Orlando with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting including 4-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 1-of-1 at the free throw line. He also brought down four rebounds. Nikola Vucevic accounted for 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Aaron Gordon had 11 points, four boards and three assists. NBA Betting Trends
The Nuggets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. Denver is 1-4 ATS in its last five Saturday games.
The Magic are 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games. The underdog is 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings.
Not only are the Nuggets the much better team overall, but they had a day of rest last night whereas Orlando went through a public humiliation. With the way Denver lost Thursday night, I expect it to respond in a positive manner tonight and get a decisive victory. Look for Jokic to get the better of Vucevic and play a large role as he usually does.
