Blazers struggle early in loss

Portland was outscored 33-22 in the first quarter Saturday night at Miami and trailed by 15 at halftime en route to a 120-111 defeat. It wasted a big night by point guard Damian Lillard as he accounted for 42 points on 15-of-28 shooting plus seven rebounds and six assists. C.J. McCollum contributed 19 points, seven boards and two assists. Zach Collins added 13 points, four rebounds and two blocked shots off the bench.

Pacers roll at Cavs

Indiana secured a 119-107 victory Saturday night at Cleveland, which resulted in Tyronn Lue being fired as head coach of the winless Cavaliers. Bojan Bogdanovich led the Pacers with 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting plus three rebounds and two assists. Victor Oladipo tallied 24 points, six assists, three rebounds and three steals. Darren Collison, Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis all scored 15 points. Thaddeus Young added 10 points, five assists, two rebounds and two steals. Indiana outscored the hosts 31-24 in the fourth quarter to close it out.

Portland has had good success at the Pacers and will look to rebound from a tough loss at the Heat. With Indiana coming off a win over the hapless Cavs, expect life to be much more difficult here. I like this game to go down to the wire and the Blazers to get the cover. Lillard is on fire right now and as long as he gets more help, Portland should be in good shape.
