Hornets trounced by Lakers

Charlotte suffered a 120-101 loss Sunday night at the LA Lakers to drop to 1-2 on the season and 0-1 on the road. The visitors were outscored 57-39 in the second half of the defeat. Miles Bridges led the Hornets with 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point range plus 5-of-5 at the free throw line. He also registered six rebounds and three assists. Cody Zeller tallied 19 points, 14 boards, three steals and three blocked shots. Terry Rozier accounted for 19 points, six caroms and four dimes. Dwayne Bacon added 15 points, six rebounds and two assists. 

Clippers upset at Suns

Los Angeles suffered a 130-122 loss at Phoenix Saturday night to drop to 2-1 overall and 1-1 on the road. The Clippers were outscored 75-67 in the second half of the loss. Montrezl Harrell led the way for LA as he scored 28 points off the bench on 9-of-10 shooting plus 10-of-11 at the charity stripe. He also accounted for seven rebounds and two assists. Kawhi Leonard chipped in with 27 points, 10 assists, eight boards and three steals. Lou Williams tallied 23 points, two caroms and two dimes as a reserve. Jeff Green had 13 points and three rebounds off the bench. Patrick Beverly added 11 points, seven rebounds and two steals.

Prediction:

This is a perfect bounceback spot for the Clippers against a team that is likely going to be in the running for worst in the NBA this season and also on a back-to-back. Los Angeles does not feel to great after dropping the Phoenix game and I think it comes out and clicks on all cylinders here. The spread is big, but for good reason. Go with LA tonight.
