Celtics secure win at OKC

Jayson Tatum has become a go-to player for Boston in the early portion of the season and that remained the case at Oklahoma City as he led the way to a 101-95 victory Thursday night. Tatum had 24 points on 8-of-18 shooting plus 7-of-7 at the free throw line. Marcus Morris had a big game with 21 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Al Horford contributed 19 points, nine boards and two assists. Kyrie Irving chipped in with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. The Celtics rallied from a big deficit as it outscored the hosts 67-45 in the second half.

Pistons stay unbeaten vs. Cavs

Detroit improved to 4-0 Thursday night with a 110-103 home victory over Cleveland. Andre Drummond had a monster game with 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting and 22 rebounds. Blake Griffin also tallied 26 points plus 10 rebounds and three assists. Reggie Jackson recorded 16 points, four assists and three rebounds. Ish Smith added 10 points, four assists and two rebounds off the bench.

Prediction: 

Boston has been established as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and Detroit would love to move into that territory, but the fact is three of its four games have come against teams expected to be among the worst in the East. The Pistons do have a quality win in overtime over the Sixers, but Philly was without Ben Simmons for that one. This will be a true test and even though Detroit should regress as the season progresses, I'll ride it as a home dog while hot.
