Are the Miami Heat the right play against the spread Saturday at home versus the Indiana Pacers?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Heat are an 8.5-point favorite to win on the spread line. The over-under is set at 211.5.

Indiana is 1-1 on the season following a 114-96 home loss to the Trail Blazers Friday night. Miami comes in at 0-1 after a 116-109 loss at Orlando on Wednesday. The Heat won two of three meetings last season and covered in two of the games. The total went under in all three games.

In the Pacers' loss, Victor Oladipo led the way with 17 points and six rebounds. T.J. Leaf scored 17 off the bench. Darren Collison scored 14, while Bogan Bogdanovich added 11 points. Indiana was outscored in each of the first three quarter on the way to the defeat.

Hassan Whiteside accounted for 26 points and 22 rebounds in Miami's loss. Goran Dragic had 17 points, six assists and five rebounds. Dion Waiters added 15 points and four assists. The Heat led 37-32 through one quarter before faltering over the next two quarters against the Magic.

With Myles Turner out and the Pacers on a back-to-back, this looks like it might have the makings of a blowout. The Heat are also salty after dropping their season opener at Orlando.
